In Haunted House, in the scene with the "Bloody Hair Fairy", Spumco wanted to have George Liquor as the fairy. Nicklodeon demanded the fairy look like someone else because of their dislike of the character. So Spumco decided to mock this demand by making the fairy a caricature of Doug Funnie from Nickelodeon's then other hit show, Doug. The reason Doug was used was because the Spumco artists found the character bland and "nice" to the network's liking.
The version of this episode on the so-called "uncut" Paramount DVD set omits the "bloody head fairy" scene from "Haunted House" due to John Kricfalusi's dissatisfaction with it
The shower scene in Haunted House was a homage to Psycho by Alfred Hitchcock (1960)
"Haunted House" is the only episode to be animated by Color Key Animation in Taiwan.
