"The boat people" tells the story of a relatively new couple that lives in a house by the sea, owned by the girl and her sister, whose father died under uncertain circumstances decades ago. Throughout the movie, the boyfriend gets more and more suspicious through some strange dreams he has that seem to be in connection with the mysterious murder.

Unfortunately I have to say, that I didn't find it quite easy to get drawn into the world the film tries to establish. That has to do partly with the characters, that at some times weren't acting very relate-able in my opinion, partly also with the fact that much of the plot development is achieved through the character's dreams, which is a very spiritual way of solving the case.

Many people here seemed to like it better than me and it isn't all too bad even though it has its lengths. For me a bit more realistic approach would have suited the film better, but that's for everyone to judge on his own.
