Alf is due a nice, sizeable bonus at work, but when his boss stalls, he installs Joyce as George's secretary. Alf goes on strike when Joyce refuses his bonus, Ada seizes her opportunity to land a job, Alf's.

This was an amusing moment, lots of funny sequences here. I was going to start by saying how nice it was to see Alf at his place if work, but no sooner do we see him, then he's out, with Ada taking his place.

Hopefully series 4 will continue along these lines, this was a good series opener.

The role reversal angle was great, I'd have loved to see Ada causing a bit more chaos at the factory, but it doesn't take a lot of imagination to work out the chaos she'd have caused for Mr Potter.

Favourite moment had to be that sequence where Alf asks Hettie for help, and she gleefully refused, the look on poor Alf's face.

7/10.

Eddie Larkins is made redundant after just a few days at work. I guess his incompetence shows up easily.

Later dad Alf joins him. He works at the staff canteen at the local factory. Myrtle Prout is his incompetent assistant. Only Alf wants a bonus from the boss after making some changes at the factory canteen.

When Alf connives to get his daughter Joyce a job as a secretary to the boss. He is livid when she tells him that he doesn't deserve a bonus and that he owes the factory money for breakages.

Upset and angry Alf goes on strike, the rest of the workers do not join him. What is more Ada replaces him at the canteen.

The men of the Larkin household are left to the housework.

The food in the canteen improves but Ada's bossiness upsets the boss. He asks Alf to come back and Ada needs to go.

Mildly amusing, I liked the role reversal. Also Ada finally manages to get the domestic appliance she always wanted.
