Love thy neighbour, until they become your landlord.

Bother Ada and Hettie are fed up with repairs not being carried out on their houses, Hettie is of course behind on the rent, Ada threatens to visit The Council, having had enough, The Landlord takes steps to remove the problem.

It's a barmy plot, but it made for quite a fun episode, it put me in mind of my late grandmother, who rented her entire life, she used to say she'd bought her house three times over, it was just want people did back then.

It's been on the news a lot recently, people living in horrendous circumstances, damp and mould, things never really change do they.

Favourite moment, Ada opening the front door to her new home. Wilfrid Brambell was very funny as the poor rent collector, that moment where he realised he didn't have to visit anymore, that was amusing.

Enjoyed it.

7/10.

Warning: Spoilers
The beginning of the third series of The Larkins. The only bright point is Wilfrid Brambell playing the forlorn rent collector Earnshaw.

Now it seems both the Larkins and the Prouts never owned their houses. They pay a weekly rent, more accurately avoid paying it to Earnshaw.

The landlord is a man called Grimweed. He is annoyed that both the Larkins an the Prouts always avoid paying the rent and have a long list if housing repairs to do.

Alf has gone to the council again to tell them the house is unsafe. So the landlord gives the properties away to them.

Only the Larkins own Prout's house and vice versa. So the neighbours bother each other for repairs and the rent.

It is surprisingly something so feeble could even be greenlit. Never mind a landlord giving his London properties away. As Ada works out, they just swap the name on the deeds.
