Jeff tries to donate his typewriter to a jumble sale, prompting interest and concern from Ada, who learns what's wrong, and tries to find a solution, in her own unique style of course.
I'm only in my fourth episode, and I am adoring The Larkins. The quintessential dysfunctional family from the 1950's have yet another drama, and once again Ada tries to put things right. Once again Peggy Mount is able to lay down the law as the inimitable Ada Larkins.
Lots of funny scenes, but the highlight of course is the moment where Alf is dressed up as Burlington Thrush, the farcical ending is very funny, the show has various comedy styles, a good old fashioned but of slapstick humour is always a good thing.
Two fine guest performances, Derek Benfield and Paul Whitsun Jones, both had fine comedy timing.
7/10.
