Brilliant cinematography but dull beyond all reason

The story begins with a flounder in the ocean. It's caught in a net, processed, sent to a restaurant, thrown in the trash and ultimately eaten by a fox.

This is an exceptionally well made short film--one that shows tons of ability by the film makers. However, despite all this, the basic story is incredibly dull and had no payoff--none. So why was it so exceptional? Well, the camera work was stellar and the crew really talented. After all, the film began underwater and it's obvious that the camera person had to be in scuba gear (though you can't see them)--and for underwater shots, it's exceptional. Then, through the course of the film, you may notice some amazingly framed shots--such as the one involving the forklift and the one shot looking into the cab of a truck. But all this technical genius cannot make up for the fact that the story is just dryer than dust. What are they going to do for an encore? Follow a piece of beef from the field to the table to the toilet to the sewage treatment plant?!
