All the comedic and visual elan of an amateur YouTube fratboy prank, including nonstop rape jokes and rampant homophobia. Are you laughing yet? I’m “biast” (pro): nothing
I’m “biast” (con): not a fan of Kevin Hart; hot and cold on Will Ferrell
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Did someone get to Will Ferrell, and to Adam McKay, Ferrell’s partner in Gary Sanchez Productions and one of the writers of Get Hard? Because just a few years ago, the pair made the very funny and surprisingly culturally incisive The Other Guys, with its anti-Wall Street-shenanigans theme and its amazing end credits, which basically amounted to a Michael Moore-style rant about the 2008 economic collapse. And now, Get Hard is exactly opposite of the sort of thematic followup we should have expected from them, one that utterly lacks the courage of its convictions.

Thinks it’s poetical and epic, and the more dramatic it thinks it’s being, the more hilariously histrionic it all is. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing

It’s a Fast & Furious ripoff! No, wait, it’s based on a popular videogame!
Which one makes Need for Speed sound more junky and more calculated to trick audiences into parting with their hard-earned cash? Cuz: that one.
And if throwing away 2D dollars on this doesn’t thrill you enough, know that the 3D version was created in postproduction– which never, never looks good — as an extra bonus cash grab. If you want to feel like you’re driving a car in 3D, you could just go drive a car.
There’s no story and no characters in the Electronic Arts series of games this...

When we first heard that comedic powerhouses Kevin Hart and Will Ferrell were planning on teaming up for a project called Get Hard, all that we knew about it was that it was coming from a pitch Key & Peele showrunners Ian Roberts and Jay Martel gave to Warner Bros, and that it would likely star Farrell as a yuppie investment banker who was being sent to prison and Hart as the street tough who he hires to teach him how to handle life on the inside. Well, today Get Hard is back in the news, and not only does it appear that the script is getting close to being done, but it also appears that a first time feature director whose name you nonetheless probably know has been hired to come on board and direct. Oh, and also a little bit more has been revealed about the lead characters. Apparently Farrell is innocent of the crime he...

The concept of Boy Scouts Versus Zombies is quite simple: A pack of zombies are intent on eating a group of Girl Scouts on a camping trip and a nearby troupe of Boy Scouts must save them. It's a concept that original writers Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki spun into a Black List script and now Etan Cohen, the writer of Tropic Thunder and Idiocracy, is in talks to direct the film for Paramount.Cohen has only one previous directing credit - a 2007 short titled My Wife Is Retarded - but has been in demand as a writer for years and his long standing association with Ben Stiller certainly doesn't hurt in industry circles. Cohen is currently supervising a new draft by Lona Williams...

If you visit Etan Cohen's IMDb page, it kindly reminds you that this man is not to be confused with another screenwriter, Ethan Cohen. Well good, we're glad that's cleared up, otherwise we might have been forced to come up with another lazy gag about them being different people. The page may need to be amended slightly now though, as not only is Etan Cohen a screenwriter, but he's set to become a fully fledged director too after signing on to helm "Boy Scouts vs. Zombies."
Cohen is perhaps best known for writing "Tropic Thunder" and for being one of the many contributors to "Men In Black III." We're also intrigued by his script called "Revenge of the Jocks," which is currently in pre-production. Cohen has nothing to do with the script for "Boy Scouts vs. Zombies" though, it was penned by Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki ("College Road Trip...
