From Foreign Intrigue To The President To Lava Lamps To Bad News, 6 October 2007
9/10
Author: ccthemovieman-1 from Lockport, NY, United States

"You've got one hour to convince me the United States should put you in power," Jonas tells Gen. Raja, the son of the former leader of a small foreign country. The latter was the country's current leader taken out of power as revenge for him killing his father. Meanwhile, a senator who also is on this trip to this small country, is complicating matters, and she needs to be dealt with to prevent the right thing from happening.

Back home, the women try to make a quick surprise get-together for Crystal since her boyfriend (I thought she was married, but apparently was shacking up with this guy) is coming home from assignment to propose to her.

The main focus in this show, by far, is the political situation and potential overthrow and how several people get out of tenuous predicaments. It makes for a tense show. The surprise regarding the kidnapping was easy to figure out but there is a surprise on the home front that is a shocker.

This turned out to be two good stories-in-one, meaning another solid episode. Not every episode is excellent, but most of them fall in that category. I was shocked to see William H. Macy playing the President of the United States. His conversations with Blane were interesting.

The second part of the story has some good humor in it as we get a glimpse of the crazy early '70s but then ends on a shocking note and will be, I'm sure, a continuing story. Without spoiling anything, I'll just state the show ends with some bad news.
