- Someone has broken into Naima and Saeed's supermarket and daubed racist graffiti on the walls, made a mess and stolen some stock. Naima screams when she discovers it and Andy and Pete come to help her. When Saeed comes he mentions calling the police but Pete advises against it and Ethel agrees with him. Andy has the opposite opinion so Saeed says he will think about it.
Naima is very angry about it as she blames the cheaper padlocks that Saeed bought. She also thinks that Saeed should call the police, but he doesn't want to upset anyone, knowing how people in the area feel about the police. Later in the café Lou comforts Naima in her own way.
Back at The Vic, Den talks on the phone to his mistress and then complains to Pete about her getting a bit serious and wanting them to go away together for a week. Apparently she is threatening to come to The Vic and reveal all if it doesnt happen.
Nick drops by Naima and Saeed's shop, supposedly to buy cigarettes. Saeed tells him that apart from cigarettes, some cassettes and a pair of Naima's gloves were stolen. Nick suggests that the culprits were probably stoned out of their brains and didnt know what they were lifting. Nick asks if they had called the police, and reinforces that as a bad idea. He tells Saeed that the cops would be no help and suggests that it might provoke the villains who did the place over to come back again or target their home as well.
Things are tense between Angie and Den and Angie makes it clear that she thinks Den is lying about his whereabouts the previous night.
Sharon appears to have been waiting for Kelvin to come by and when he does she invites him for a cuppa at the café. She asks him if he is going out with Michelle, he says he isn't so she invites him to go with her to see Frankie (Goes to Hollywood) on Thursday night as she has tickets that Den got for free from the brewery. He agrees to go when she tells him that Den wouldn't let her go with just Michelle, for safety reasons, but then tells him that he has to pretend to Den that a group of them are going. Michelle enters the café and doesn't look very happy to see them sitting together.
Lofty is late for his shift at The Vic. Nick is the first customer and offers Angie some cheap electric carving knives, claiming that they are not stolen but Angie declines. When Lofty does come Nick asks him if he thinks Ethel would be interested in one. He calls Lofty "soldier boy".
Debbie and Andy have a bit of argument about money but Andy cools things down by suggesting a shower. Later they are cuddling on the couch and Andy says he thinks that they should get better security in the flat. The tension over money matters persists though.
Ali thinks Nick Cotton is the one who did the break-ins on the estate and did over Naima and Saeed's shop. While he is telling this to Sue she admits that she bought an electric carving knife off him. Later at The Vic, on his way out to drive his mini-cab he tells Sue to get someone to walk her home when she leaves, and gestures towards Nick Cotton, saying "and not him".
Nick resumes his conversation with Lofty and reminds him of some illegal activities Lofty was involved with in the past with him, but Lofty tells him clearly that he is not interested in doing anything like that again. The conversation takes a more sinister tone when Nick all but admits to killing Reg Cox.
Ali finishes his mini-cab shift but when locking up his car he is hit over the head and his takings are stolen. The episode finishes with him lying unconscious next to his car.
