A French Policeman informs Sergeant Cork that a forger from his country, a Madamoisele Nanette Gaillard is operating in the area. Marriott is learning Jujitsu, much the the pleasure of Superintendent Roadway.
I rather enjoyed it, a very unusual story, not the usual story or flow, it feels very different. There are various plot threads, but no loose end is left dangling, it's all nicely tied up.
There are a few really good scenes, I enjoyed Marriott receiving his Jujutsu lesson, I wouldn't have put Bob down as a fan of The Martial Arts. Chalky being bamboozled into detailing his bookie was also a fine scene.
Peter Elliott plays The Japanese Instructor, maybe there weren't many Japanese actors readily available at the time. He's not particularly convincing unfortunately.
Two performances stood out, with both actors in very familiar roles, not unusual to see Carmen Silvera behind the bar, but generally in Allo Allo, she was fun here. John Bailey is excellent as The Antique dealer Barrington, a very similar part to the one he had in Dr Who classic, Evil of The Daleks.
7/10.
