Matrimonial Malice
Prismark1013 March 2023
It starts off with a man taking his wife to hospital. Later Harriet Peterson asks Dr Moody just what it takes for a person to break their collarbone.

Harriet is representing Joy Mostyn who accuses her husband of badly beating her up. They have only been married a short while but her husband. A surgeon seems to come home especially after a long operation in a tense and foul mood.

Dr Gordon Mostyn (Gareth Thomas) is a dedicated surgeon, caring and plausible. He does not drink alcohol unlike his wife.

Joy's friend Sally backs her up. She used to go out with Gordon and claims he was violent to her as well.

This is very much even stevens as it goes to the courtroom. Nothing is clear cut, Joy does not have it all her own way when she gives testimony. Sally's evidence seems exaggerated.

However Harriet needles Dr Mostyn to lose his rag and he falls apart in the witness box.

A tense and strong episode once it reaches the court helped by Gareth Thomas's powerful acting.
