John Inman was the break out star of 'Are You Being Served?', so it was no surprise that ITV tried to build on this by giving him his own sitcom.
The problem is that the character feels very much like a Mr Humphries clone, which is jarring.
The premise is paper thin, but there's some nice 'Odd Couple' dynamics between Inman and Josephine Tewson which just about carries this through.
