Impressive campaign
psmulkern17 June 2021
With Elaine Morgan writing and Julia Smith directing, Crusade is an impressive episode that looks at a female doctor's campaign to improve sanitation at the town's school - an aim that even Dr Finlay has given up on (in a reminder of an earlier episode). Anne Kristen is strong as Dr Fay Beresford, as is Patrick Troughton in his final appearance as headmaster Mr Miller (with his Scottish accent improved). Julia Smith shows yet again what a precise director she is, with a well choreographed public meeting, and an amusing coda as the credits role of all the boys and girls filing into their lavatories. PSM.
