The movie is made of still images: one roll of thirty-six exposures of Kodak film. It was shot as still images because the Padaung are completely surrounded by the armed Thai military. To get the images desired the filmmaker pretended to be a tourist.
It cost four hundred bahts to enter the Padaung village in Mae Hong Son, Thailand.
