More bizzarities from underground art-house maniac Shuji Terayama, this time it's a 20-minute short featuring vague characters doing cryptic stuff near a beach. The story seems to be deeply personal for Terayama and the characters are what seems to be an admiral and a woman wearing a traditional bridal gown. Terayama's distinct style of cinematic expression is once again the focus; he usually plays around with spatial possibilities of overlapping images, and this time the imagery is either "erased" by a spreading watery force effect that spreads from the middle of the screen, or a human hand literally enters the shot to expunge the image with an eraser (reminds me of Osvaldo Cavandoli's cartoon La Linea). Let's not forget J. A. Seazer's incredibly moving orchestral soundtrack.
