In the opening shootout, both Mathews and one of the criminals each fire 7 shots from their 6 shot revolvers.
After grabbing and threatening the woman, the robber takes her away while she is still holding her gun in her right hand. In the following scene as he walks her out of the trees, the gun has disappeared.
In the beginning gun battle there are is a larger 2 door sedan behind Ken on opposite side of the street in front of the laundry. After Ken calls for an ambulance, that large sedan has transformed into a Volkswagen Beetle.
The arm/shoulder wound to the criminal in the opening shootout would not have been either incapacitating or fatal as shown.
Both Williams and Mathews look out the window using binoculars. The view when seen on camera is unobstructed, however there were blinds between the binoculars and the window. In later scenes, there are a row of trees in front of the home across the street that would have blocked the view as shown.
Although two phone booths are shown being used at two different locations, irregular markings such as chipped-off paint reveal that only one fake phone booth was used at both locations. Two of the robbers actually have a telephone conversation miles apart, each using the same phone booth.
Despite him being shown as driving some distance from the phone booth, the final scene is shown to be across the street from the first phone booth used by the robbers. This can be proved by the "Chateau Highlands" subdivision sign in the background.
In the last scene when Gloria Jordan aims her gun at the camera in a closeup, it is quite obvious that the barrel of her 38 revolver gun has no bullets in it.
Despite her shown as driving some distance, the scenes filmed after the woman leaves the farm were all shot very close together, as the earth moving equipment sounds heard when she left her home is also present where she is forced to stop by the robber.
When Joe and Pat return to their motel room they are shown entering a room somewhere in the middle of a long line of rooms. Once inside there is a large window to the outside on the wall to the right as you come through the door. Being that the room was not an end room but rather between rooms on either side there could have been no window to the outside.
More than thirty rounds are fired in the opening gun battle between men on both sides of the street including Dan Matthews and Sgt. Williams. The shootout takes place on a city street lined on both sides with buildings and plate glass windows and only two men are hit. Despite this there is no evidence of any of the stray bullets impacting on the fronts of buildings or any shattered glass or damage of any kind.
Despite a row of trees later shown, Mathews while staking out the farm house has a view of the front of the property, and can see the woman leave and go to her mailbox. In a subsequent scene, even though he is looking out the same window, he now has a view of the side of the property and watches her drive away in her car.
After the woman places the package in her mailbox, Mathews remarks "We won't need that search warrant." Mail is property of the owner and would still require a search warrant for the police to open it.
The robber in the second phone booth only dials 6 digits. Phone numbers as shown on the real estate sign (TA7-5621) were 7 digits.
