IMDb is set up to help you identify movies associated with certain authors, actors, screenwriters, etc. When you search "Agatha Christie", however you come upon the Geraldine McEwan versions of Miss Marple mysteries only to find out that they are, as exemplified by Nemesis, associated with Agatha Christie in name only. Something must be done to correct this by IMDb not just for the sake of the truth but to prevent people from being repulsed by these productions simply because they have almost nothing to do with an Agatha Christie creation. If someone came to these productions under different titles and with a female detective with a name other than Miss Marple, one might enjoy them on their own terms rather than being distracted by the lack of similarity to the original stories in plot, tone, characterization, and theme. To illustrate, the few positive reviews were from people who were not familiar with the earlier versions or bluntly state they fought off the tendency to compare (and possibly from some friends of the producers who feel they must plant praise in these columns). It's asking a lot of an intelligent audience to fend off past knowledge of something for an hour and a half when part of the fun of seeing different versions of the same story is to compare nuances - not to be shocked by irrelevancy. So I would suggest for such florid cases of misrepresentations as these "Miss Marple" movies, IMDb use an asterisk indicating "in name only". To most people who appreciate Agatha Christie's genius these movies are blasphemy - if one is foolish enough to take them seriously.
