The title "Paradise Smurfed" is an allusion to the John Milton epic poem, "Paradise Lost".
The syndicated version of "Supersmurf" cuts out most of the scene of Jokey pranking Brainy and the scene where Brainy drives a couple of Smurfs playing smurfball away with his talking.
Elements found in "Supersmurf" (especially Brainy flying in the air with a cape) parodies the comic book superhero Superman.
