Zack takes his chances at the stock market
callanvass22 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Zack breaks his dad's 300$ video camera, spying on a pair of bodacious twins. He goes to one of his best pal's, Mikey to get in on a scam from Zack. Miss Bliss conjures up an idea to try and reinvigorate her class. She comes up with the stock topic for her class, and things get way out of control when Zack sees it as a chance to not only get a new video camera, but a get rich quick scheme. He chooses a high-risk stock in potatoes, and gets his classmates in on the scam. It flops miserably. Miss Bliss is about to get a new car, and loses her cool when she finds out the potato scam is coming out of her money. This was pretty daring for a show aimed at teenagers. I'm an adult, and I personally love anything to do with Saved by the Bell, but I digress. I wasn't even aware computers were this relevant, back in 1988. I was only three years old! Also… Mikey pines for Justine Bateman (Jason Bateman's sister) she was cute in a mediocre movie called Satisfaction, but that's about it… Anyway, I thought this was a good message for teens and adults alike. You should never get too greedy with things, and you should always be prepared when it comes to money, and investing. Miss Bliss's reactions were very human, and realistic. Her reaction was perfect, and made me forget I was watching a show. This is a very good episode. Watch it if you can find it

Wall Street (#1.3)

Warning: Spoilers
Miss Bliss wants to teach her class about the stock market and they invest into airline business. It goes up. Zack breaks his father's video camera and thinks to make money with the stock. He gets the class to sell theirs and buy potatoes. But it drops and Miss Bliss owes a lot of money.

A pretty great idea to teach the young viewers not to just invest without thinking about the consequences and that some stocks actually involve losing money. It was also fun to watch them talk about the age of computers coming. It was 1988, way before computers became part of normal people's everyday life. Wonder what they imagined 2017 will be like...
