The dance between Zenigata and Fujiko (disguised as Margaret) was personally animated by Hayao Miyazaki.
The guestbook Zenigata checks at the desk has:
- Saori Minami, a singer from Okinawan whose first hit was released in Japan in 1971
- Junko Fuji (Sumiko Fuji), the daughter of a Toei executive who got cast as a female lead in various yakuza films in the late 60s
- Ken Takakura, a tough guy actor who is often paired with Sumiko Fuji
- Ruriko Asaoka, another Japanese actress
- Shouta Ouhara from Masaaki Ôsumi's previous series Obake no Q-taro (1965)
- Monkey Punch, the "Lupin III" creator himself
- and Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones.
Although sporting it as her disguise here, Fujiko would wear her bob haircut for the rest of the series.
