A big story.

CID and uniform are on the hunt for a violent criminal who's failed to return to prison, Police are alerted of his presence, by an elderly lady, who had been one of his victims.

Hurting inside is a decent name for this episode, we see contrasting forms of care for loved ones. We have Barry desperate to help his daughter, willing to risk anything to change her path, and we see poor Mrs Grace, who's son takes her money, and can't even be bothered to see her.

It's a very well penned story, it builds well, has very good characters, and a very dramatic ending, it's a good one.

Margery Withers who plays Mrs Grace did a line of old ladies on The Bill, she was good here as the plucky old dear, good scenes with lovely Tosh. Over Smith was really good, once we eventually got to see him.

8/10.
