DS Greig is called in after a woman reports her husband, Alex Kennedy, missing. Donna doesn't recognise the name, but recognises his face, she puts the name Alex Finney to him.
It's a very good, solid episode, it starts off as your average story of petty crime, but it quickly becomes a tale of duplicity and murder. It is a very clever mystery, lots of revelations, and two very interesting characters, namely the wives.
Great to see Lizzie McInnerny here as Gail Finney, she's able to play so many different types of character, very talented actress.
When you compare an episode such as this, to a much later one, you'll realise the focus was always on the criminal and the crime, years later it ventured into soap land a little, too much focus on the personal lives.
Very good, 8/10.
