The Bill's funniest episode.

Page and McCann arrive at a block of flats to attend an elderly lady who's been beaten and robbed, fortunately the helpful Mr Whatley is on hand with his chopper.

It's a brilliant episode, it's very original, it's a mix of macabre and funny.

The look on the faces of Gary and Polly when Mr Whatley explains the incident with the gherkins is priceless. They go from caring helpers to bemused onlookers. At least he had the decency to preserve them.

There is a lot of humour throughout this one, plenty of tongue in cheek humour, it's a really good watch, it's pretty funny, I loved the scene with Gloria and Alan, it was hilarious. Mrs Norris is funny, The Ellis couple are a scream.

Derek Newark is terrific as Jim Whatley, an unmistakable voice, and a terrific actor.

This needed to be the episode put out on Christmas Eve, it's somehow in the spirit of the festive period.

Classic Bill, 9/10.
