Great telemovie
mmciau14 November 2006
I thoroughly enjoyed the movie that was shown on Australian TV on 12 November 2006.

The great Noni Hazelhurst plays such part in an "oh so convincing" manner. Her face is very expressive with endearing mannerisms.

Gary McDonald was the typical father with short arms and deep pockets - always trying to squirm out of his responsibilities for paying his fair share of the wedding costs.

I laughed at the "stepfather's" laconic sense of humour.

The film was a great and hilarious insight of all the pre-nuptial 'dramas" that go on in life with a girl whose blind desire to have a big wedding is a big financial burden for many.

Great movie Mike McInerney

One actor not mentioned in the review

One Australian actor not mentioned in this review is one of the greats of Australian film and television. That is Gary Macdonald, famous as the little Aussie bleeder, Norman Gunston, and well known here as Arthur Bear in Mother and Son alongside Ruth Cracknell, possibly the greatest actress this country produced.

If you don't know Gary's work you should look him up. As Norman Gunston he interviewed scores of international celebrities for his show. His interview with Sally Struthers was hilarious and his jam with Frank Zappa was superb. Frank had him on stage when he performed in Sydney. Gary/Norman plays harp.
