The Spirit (2008) More at IMDbPro »

The content of this page was created directly by users and has not been screened or verified by IMDb staff.
Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

A main theme of the movie is that the Spirit has had relations with a lot of women including his own doctor

Sand photocopies her butt (clothed) on a photocopier and throws the picture at a man and tells him he made an ass of himself

In a sexually charged scene, a female character is first seen from a distance, supposedly nude although nothing revealing is visible due to the distance from camera. In the next shot she is seen completely nude from behind, her rear and upper back is completely visible ( Close up shot) as well as the side of her breast.

Violence & Gore

Several graphic shootouts and stabbings with people dying, and lots of bloodspattering.

Some science experiments are shown and they are quite disturbing (a jumping foot, and a goo that melts you from the inside).

Profanity

The police commissioner says God Damn every other word.

Some smoking and drinking

Octopus melts a cat when he has the cat drink a certain chemical
