Beaver and his friends want to raise homing pigeons. The two females Beaver has picked out from the pet store he is planning on naming Miss Canfield and Miss Landers after his two favorite teachers. Believing he is now old enough for the responsibility, Ward allows Beaver to get them. Wally is afraid however that Beaver's pigeons will go the way of Beaver's previous pets - hamsters - that Wally ended up taking care of until they died. When Ward brings Beaver's two pigeons home from the pet store for him, he finds out that Beaver is sick in bed with the chicken pox. On Ward's request, a reluctant Wally ends up looking after the pigeons while Beaver is sick. Larry, who is going away for the weekend, asks Wally if he'll also look after his two pigeons at the same time. Wally agrees despite Larry's pigeons looking less than healthy. But something ends up happening to Beaver's pigeons during Wally's care... Written by Huggo
