I got this movie via one of those Mill Creek Entertainment DVD packs that came with three other movies. I decided to watch the movie because I wanted to see what a modern day Mexican comedy was like. After watching it, I have no desire to watch any other offerings from that particular genre. There are many problems with the movie, but what I objected to most of all was the sorry script. Its story is pretty formula and stretched out past the breaking point. Actually, that might have not been so bad had there been plenty of funny gags along the way, but that's not the case. For one thing, the movie comes off more like a somewhat lighthearted drama than a comedy, and when the movie DOES try to be funny, the gags are lame and obvious. It doesn't help that the central character is quite obnoxious, so there's nothing funny about her. Also, I feel I should mention that if it weren't for the occasional uses of nudity and foul language, I would have sworn that this was a made for television effort instead of a feature film; the movie's low budget is painfully evident throughout. The best I can say for the movie is that it isn't as bad as most of the movies coming from my country (Canada).
