Every show has its day, and sadly after 12 series, combined with a changing comedy landscape, by this episode 'The Two Ronnies' had had their day.
It shows here. The party format has been wrung dry, the sketches have become more than a little bum and tit obsessed (a critique often made when talking about Ronnie Barker's work) and the un PC qualities shine through more so now than ever.
The only aspect of the show that does still seem fresh is Ronnie Corbett's chair monologues, but I found this episode hard going to watch.
I'm a fan of 'The Two Ronnies' - at their peak they were fantastic, but 12 series is a long time for any sketch show to stay fresh, and sadly by this point it was time to say goodnight.
