Director Richard Dutcher originally declared that this film would never be released in domestic format, due to the extremely personal content it has. Only a couple of public screenings took place in 2008, later it had a short first theatrical run. It was officially re-released in 2012 in selected cinemas. It remains unknown if it is going to be released in domestic format in the future.
In 2015, Richard Dutcher sued the producers of Nightcrawler (2014), claiming that the film stole elements of Dutcher's work. The case was eventually dismissed.
This film was planned to be shot before God's Army (2000) but was delayed on purpose by director Richard Dutcher.
