Actually kind of sweet

Only one other review mentioned this point and I completely agree with her. This show is not trying to be like Ghost Hunters at all. The point of the show is not to gather and show hard evidence. The point of the show is to tell the story of a location and help its residents cope with whatever is going on.

I love Ghost Hunters and I think Paranormal State is a fresh take on paranormal programming. There are too many paranormal shows on TV now that are just poor man versions of Ghost Hunters. This is not one of them. One thing this show does is bring in the assistance of mediums to learn the history of a location. That alone should tell you it's not trying to be like Ghost Hunters. There is no room in TAP's protocol for mediumship. Which is fine for them because their show is based solely around collecting concrete evidence of a haunt. Rather than another GH rip off, Paranormal State is a nice alternative to this. Its goal is help residents deal with paranormal activity not to definitively determine whether there is activity.
