The Bibbits were originally designed by character artist Charles Zembillas for Search for the Past (1984) but were never used until this story.
The original script stated that there should be many Horde Troopers on guard at the robot factory. However, in the finished product only two are shown.
Much of the animation of She-Ra fighting the Horde Troopers during the opening sequence is reused from Duel at Devlan (1985).
The machines used by the Evil Horde to cut down the trees first appeared in The Laughing Dragon (1985).
The animation of Mantenna falling down the trapdoor was previously seen in A Loss for Words (1985), For Want of a Horse (1985), Flowers for Hordak (1985) and A Lesson in Love (1986).
