According to the screenplay by Bob Forward, it has been three years since Mally and General Sunder met, giving them time to raise their daughter, Telzy.
The animation sequence of Queen Angella and Glimmer lifting off to fly into action is reused in Portrait of Doom (1986). Even the dialogue is the same, although it has been re-recorded and the images are flipped horizontally so that the characters fly off in the opposite direction.
The sequence of Hordak speaking into a microphone is reused from Flowers for Hordak (1985), although in that instance it was in the Fright Zone instead of the Annihilator.
Telzy's character model is a recolored and reused version of the one used for young Glimmer in Micah of Bright Moon (1985).
The animation of She-Ra slicing the Annihilator in half while Hordak parachutes to safety will be reused in Portrait of Doom (1986), in which Hordak is replaced by Catra.
