- Errors in geography: Key West, Florida and the Bahamas are flat, not mountainous.
- Continuity: Finn's boat catches fire, blows up, and burns to a crisp. When he dives down 10 minutes later, the boat is intact. He even retrieves a picture from a bulletin board, in perfect condition.
- Continuity: Tess kisses Finn in the airplane, then takes her arm from behind Finn and puts it somewhere else. In the next shot, she takes her arm from behind Finn again.
- Continuity: When Tess is lowered into the blow hole, the knot around her body is a bowline. Later in the scene, it's a square knot.
- Continuity: At the end, flaps on the sea plane's wings go from extended to retracted and back several times.
- Factual errors: When Finn pushed the airplane's throttle forward, he actually pushed the mixture control to full rich. This would have no impact on the engine speed, yet the engine powers up to full throttle. The throttle is to the right of the mixture control.
- Continuity: The view out the front of the airplane from the pilot's seat is not from the Cessna 206 used for the outside shots. The view out the front has structural bars along the sides of the windscreen, which the 206 doesn't have.
- Revealing mistakes: The airplane that sinks is clearly fake. Many of the parts are different than the airplane parts shown.
- Continuity: Gemma arrives via helicopter to Nigel's yacht, which has no helipad. Then she is greeted by Nigel as she is walking up a staircase. As the helicopter would have landed on the roof, she should be coming down, not up.
- Continuity: When Gemma and Finn are chasing the plane, a wake can be seen on the far side of the plane that doesn't match with the jet ski or the plane.
- Continuity: When Finn is catching Gemma's hat, it shows him landing on his RIGHT shoulder. In the next clip he is laying on his LEFT shoulder wincing in pain.
- Incorrectly regarded as goofs: Gemma says something about her father leaving her mother while the mother was a blackjack dealer in Nebraska. There are no casinos - and hence no blackjack - in Nebraska. However, there was illegal gambling in Omaha, NE up until 1974. (Reference: ^ United States Congress Senate Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights. (1974) Criminal Justice Data Banks 1974: Hearings Before the Subcommittee on Constitutional Rights of the Committee on the Judiciary. Government Printing Office. p 411.) Also she could have lived in Omaha and crossed the Missouri River to Council Bluff, Iowa and work on the casino gambling ships on the river as a blackjack dealer.
- Crew or equipment visible: After the plane crashes and Tess comes to the surface, a scuba diver is clearly visible just under the water beside her.
- Revealing mistakes: Moe Fitch's accent fluctuates between American Southerner and English Cockney.
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): After the boat explodes, Finn and Alfonz surface without taking a decompression stop. That is done in emergencies, but they had no idea that the boat exploded.
- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Bigg Bunny tells Moe, "BiggBunny, it's one word," but later on Benjamin passes a sign for his rum that clearly spells it as two words.
- Errors in geography: When Honeycutt's yacht is sitting in Key West, you can see mountainous terrain in the background. Key West like all of Florida is completely flat and has no hilly terrain to speak of let alone mountains.

- Continuity: SPOILER: When Finn and Tess are talking in the park after their divorce, Tess' purse strap switches from one strap over her shoulder to two, and back again, several times.
- Continuity: SPOILER: When Moe is chasing Bigg Bunny in the speed boat, he takes a shot at the plane. A buckshot blast can clearly be seen on the middle part of the plane. Moe then hands the shotgun to one of the crew and dives into the water. A few seconds later, when Bigg Bunny is loading the treasure chest into the plane, you can clearly see two shotgun blasts.
