  • In part 2, the Dean is wearing a robe with "Born to Rune" on the back. This is a reference to the book "Soul Music", which also features Susan and the wizards.

  • Death, voiced by Ian Richardson, utters the line "You might very well think that I'd already thought of that, but I couldn't possibly comment" - a reference to Richardson's catchphrase as Francis Urquhart in the political thriller "House of Cards" (1990) and it's sequels "To Play the King" (1993) and "The Final Cut" (1995).

  • Corporal Nobby Nobbs full name is Cecil Wormsborough St. John Nobbs. He has a paper signed by the Patrician of Ankh-Morpork verifying that he is indeed human.

  • After filming, Hogfather author Terry Pratchett was stopped by customs at an airport in Australia. He had a large box of plastic teeth from the set, which distressed the officials.
