At the end, Chuck and Larry were actually supposed to kiss in the court room scene; they even filmed it that way. However, when a gay kiss between the two protagonists would earn them an R rating, they decided to go with the second ending they filmed, which is where Dan Akroyd interrupts them; this ending is in the theatrical release.
