Basil's new fling is with a woman who has 'issues'...serious issues.
planktonrules3 December 2023
Basil is exceptionally happy, as he's found a girlfriend, Betty, who loves sex as much as he does and they seem perfect together. However, there is one minor problem...she is a kleptomaniac. Things have disappeared at Bayview and on an outing, Tom and Diana spot Betty shoplifting. Tom tries to get her to return the items...but the shopkeeper thinks Tom is the thief and detains him for the police. This results is him getting arrested and a court appearance (which, sadly, we don't get to see...just hearing about it after the fact). Can Tom manage to avoid being incarcerated or expelled from Bayview?

Considering the episode features Basil, it is, of course, excellent and enjoyable. Well worth seeing and yet another enjoyable show.

Bay View is hit with a crime wave.
Sleepin_Dragon5 March 2023
A crime wave has hit Bay View, a string of pearls, and a set of crucifixes have been stolen from resident Betty Hardcastle, Tom and Diana play the part of amateur Detectives and hunt for the culprits.

Series two really does continue with another very funny episode, there are several amusing moments here, the best of them being Basil's desire for a machine to be installed.

Michael Bilton was absolutely first rate as Geriatric Casanova Basil, some of his one liners here were terrific, the show dealt with something of a taboo subject, Geriatric sexual relations, I can't think of many shows that have gone there.

Hardly Marple and Poirot, more Morse and Jemima Shaw, Tom's stint as Sherlock Holmes was very funny.

8/10.
