- Barnaby West: An inch too low it'll be your head.
- Bill Hawks: Barney, if he hits me in my neck, my head won't amount to anything anyway. Now, Barney, remember what I taught you. Just hold your breath and squeeze it off now.
- Bill Hawks: Barney! All women know where they're heading especially the ones who don't look like they know where they're heading.
- Christopher Hale: Sure I wanted to do something when I saw you ride in here, I wanted to go gunning for somebody. But there comes a time in a man's life when he learns that it's better not to let his temper do his thinking for him. There are some things, Barney, you just have to chalk up to growing up.
- Barnaby West: You're sounding just like Bill. Chalk it up, write it off, live and let live. No wonder Sam Race is always smiling. He leads a real fine life. Everybody turns the other cheek, but not him.
- Annabelle Day: $300?
- Sam Race: The way prices keep going up, a man fair can't stay in business. I'm trying though, I'm trying.
- Annabelle Day: I have to send it to you.
- Sam Race: Well, I'm kinda a stickler for paying what's due, receiving what's due. It makes it keeping on friendly terms. Now, now, now, such a pretty little head needn't worry about money. All Sam asks is his girls get working for him a fair try. Now you just put on a big smile over at the tables and you'll come to find it's the best day of your life was when you signed up to work for Sam Race.
- Bill Hawks: When a fella sets out to change the world, he ends up with a load of nothing for thanks.
- Cooper Smith: Bill, what'd you prove? What'd you prove?
- Bill Hawks: It's the first time I've ever seen you without a smile on your face, Sam. Must've proved something.
- Cooper Smith: Seeing as we're old friends, I'll just break one leg. leaving you enough to climb back on the horse.
- Charlie Wooster: SAY THAT'S ALL I DO AROUND HERE IS KEEP THINGS TO MYSELF! It's a tougher job than cookin,' I'll tell you that! With my big mouth, huh!
- Cooper Smith: Sounds like you didn't like the way you left this town last time. Maybe you figure leaving more dignified this time? Is that is, boy?
- Barnaby West: I came back to tell you you're not much of a man. I know you're a thief. I know you're a cheat. And that doesn't add up to being much of a man.
- Cooper Smith: You must be aiming to prove that, me not being much of a man.
- Barnaby West: I figure I have to try.
- Cooper Smith: You're wearing a gun, I see.
- Barnaby West: A gun only proves who's the best shot. Sometimes it doesn't even prove that.
- [Barney tosses his gun aside]
- Cooper Smith: You comin' at Sam with your bare hands? Boy, I can see your knees shakin' from here.
- Barnaby West: You ready, Mr Race?
- Cooper Smith: Known for my accomodating ways.
- [as Barney steps forward, he is tripped, dusted down, and then slugged by Sam's men]
