The first draft was entitled "Night of the Big Rain," the second was called "Nobody Here But Us Martians".
Near the start, just after Rod Serling's intro, the name of the bus company is glimpsed on the side of the bus. Cayuga Bus Company, though only the "C & O" of "Company" is actually visible in the Blu-Ray Release. The Twilight Zone (1959) series was produced by Cayuga Production Company.
Toward the end, Ross is seen smoking 'Oasis' cigarettes, made by the show's sponsor.
The young married couple, played by Jill Ellis and Ron Kipling, had very short screen-acting careers: Jill Ellis appeared in nothing else, making this her only credit, while Kipling was in only two other television guest spots.
After the bus driver realizes that he doesn't know who boarded the bus, Avery (the kooky older man at the diner counter) exclaims "She's just like a science fiction, that's what she is! A regular Ray Bradbury!" Ray Bradbury later wrote the Season 3 episode I Sing the Body Electric (1962).
