Johnny Speights excellent script sees the Garnett's go on holiday to Bournmouth. This was the greatest episode of Till Death us do Part.

Before they even get on the train, there is an argument in the living room. Alf's view on women "Adam and Eve, see what God's done there is he's made Adam, then in his infinite wisdom, took a rib and made Eve, to do a bit of cleaning for him" On the train, Alf gets in an argument with an Indian train passenger (a blacked up Spike Milligan). Alf is even more angered when he is asked to leave the carriage because it is first class ALF: What about him there Indian: I may be second class citizen, but on British rail i'm first class passenger (the conductor checks his ticket) thank you my man. Alf is even more angered when he gets the seat Alf was sitting on, turns it over and puts his feet on it. They arrive at the hotel. It is run by a couple, the man being a very good guest in sitcoms Norman Bird and he is married to a big fat woman. After loads of fun, at the swimming pool a boy puts Alf's chair hanging off the pool and he falls in.

I have got this episode on DVD and I also have the script. This is in my opinion the fifth best comedy ever. Even though Jimmy Perry/ David Croft, John Sullivan, Ronald Wolfe/ Ronald Chesney and Roy Clarke have written better sitcoms, I still consider Johnny Speight as Britains greatest scriptwriter, because his scripts are so clever. Not only do they make you laugh, they also make fun of racists and inform you of Contempory Issues. So when you watch something Johnny Speight has written, not only have you laughed, you have also been informed.

Best Bit: Alf falling in the pool.
