Tony Gets His Shot In The Ring
ccthemovieman-14 February 2010
In this boxing story starry Tony Danza, Carlos Palomino, who plays "The Champ" was a real-life boxer and a good one. He was the former Welterweight Champion Of the World. He also was a pretty fair actor and has a decent resume in that occupation, too.

Alan Arbus, the actor who plays Carlos' manager, had a familiar face and voice. I couldn't place it until looking up his resume here on IMDb. Arbus played the psychiatrist on MASH - "Sidney Freeman!" Sidney was the soft-spoken shrink who was on about a dozen episodes, trying to help the poor doctors at the MASH unit in Korea, guys like "Hawkeye" and "B.J."

Anyway, Danza ("Tony Banta" in this series) gets to play a role he probably enjoyed playing, that of an amateur boxer who thinks he might be pretty good. He gets support from everyone but you-know-who: "Louie DePalma," the most despicable Taxi dispatcher in TV. I won't say who gets the last laugh here in this episode, but it might surprise you.
