It's Valentine Day in the Big Apple and Paul wants to propose marriage to Claudia. Mike accompanies Paul to pick out a ring and when Paul is ready to pay he finds out that he left his wallet. Mike will pay for the ring, and keep it, until Paul pays back the money.
In the meantime, Laurie has returned and wants to get back together with Mike. This was a woman that broke Mike's heart and he is apprehensive about renewing the relationship. When Laurie finds the Paul's ring in Mike's jacket, Laurie thinks it is for her and starts telling everyone. Mike is trying to come to terms if he wants to actually marry Laurie.
In one of the funniest scene in the series, Paul is set to propose to Claudia during a press conference and then played to Claudia that evening. Everything is set with the festivities waiting on the word from Paul. But things do not go as planned.
