Episode 63 begins with the stunning return of Carol David(Rebecca Balding),Wendy's long-lost mother,who jilted Jodie at the altar,and now displays a sudden interest in the daughter she had abandoned.Jessica decides to see a psychiatrist,Dr. Alan Posner(Allan Miller),who keeps a punching bag in his office to provide something for his patients to take out their frustrations on.Burt's doctor laughs about the recent death of another patient,because this man is the one who actually has the fatal blood disease that was originally attributed to Burt due to computer error,meaning that Burt is not dying,and never was.Billy admits that Leslie's constant attentions are too much for his tender years(he's not ready to make a commitment),and Dutch discovers a note left by Eunice announcing that she's leaving him(once again,he turns to Corinne for comfort).
