The inspiration to do this story was based on the "pharohmania" in the U.S. at the time. The Egyptian government had agreed to let a traveling exhibition of Egyptian artifacts tour various cities around the country. The exhibition was an enormous success, as people were willing to stand in long lines for hours just to see the exhibits.
