It still hits hard.

This is a very memorable story, one that stands up to the test of time, very poignant because of the crime and characters, it was shocking then and remains as powerful now. The story had a big relevance back then.

There is less focus on the personal lives, this is all about the crime, it's very absorbing. Sam has a falling out with Selway, a bit of antagonism is always good.

Joe Absolom, Kevin Bishop and Iain Robertson, three young actors who have all done very well, very good in this, all have been excellent since. Fairbank is also very good.

So sad. 9/10

A Brutal Murder
Hitchcoc9 February 2019
An elderly woman is brutally beaten and murdered off a path in the woods. Her skull is crushed and a bottle has been shoved in her mouth. The suspect is a disheveled alcoholic who often frequents the park. The woman was discovered by a couple boys who are real trouble. One of them is stunned by her death; the other shows off and jokes about it. Another figure is a young mentally handicapped boy who is frequently victimized by these other boys. At one point, the strip him and tie him to a tree in the woods. He has befriended the suspect because there is the promise of a puppy. Sam is involved in this case and a bit impatient with the police captain who is trying to pin this on the guy with no hard evidence. That seems to be a recurring theme in this show.
