Roseanne named her baby "Jerry Garcia Conner," after the late Jerry Garcia who died Aug 9th, 1995, just shortly before this show was to air. And this episode, full of psychedelic love, was dedicated to him.
The original airing of this episode featured a different song than the one used in syndication. The original song in the show was "My Sisters And Brothers" sung By Jerry taken from taken from The Jerry Garcia Band live album, and later replaced with The Grateful Dead covering "Not Fade Away" from (Buddy Holly And The Crickets) ironically sung by Bob Weir.
The bears and turtles that Roseanne hallucinates in hospital are famous symbols for the rock band The Grateful Dead. The bear a reference to producer Owsley "Bear" Stanley, and the turtles from the cover of the album "Terrapin Station".
Sarah Chalke: This episode was during Alicia Goranson's short return to the role of Becky. Chalke, who had been Goranson's replacement, makes a cameo appearance in this episode. She appears at the front door with children, trick-or-treating.
