What a wonderful start to series 2 of Rising Damp. The Permissive Society was full of wonderful jokes and was a very funny episode.
Phillip and Alan are going on a date. Miss Jones is unhappy because Phillip has left her. The date doesn't go as planned when they go back to the girls flat and one of the girls asks "What Shall We do" and Alan suggested scrabble. Phillip then tells Alan that he and Miss Jones need each other. So he goes to her room to take his chance, but then Rigsby has a similar idea and as he walks in, Alan hides in her wardrobe. Miss Jones is then appalled at Rigsby's offer and is shocked at seeing Alan sleep walk out of the wardrobe. Then the father of one of Alan's ex girlfriend turns up angry. Rigsby tells him wear to go. As they are looking out of the window, his ex girlfriends big brothers get out of the car. Rigsby and Alan then barricade themselves in the room.
This is probably the second best episode, beaten only by "A Night Out" Best Bit: Miss Jones is crying because her boyfriend has left her: JONES: He said nobody could get his whites as white as I did, now he's found someone else RIGSBY: You don't know that Miss Jones, he could be using the laundrette.
