The bloodthirsty spirit of the warlike Aztec emperor Ahuitzotl is buried away in a magical puppet-shaped idol, locked inside a silver box in an atypically rock-dug temple. Following an accidental NSA satellite tip from agent Wayne Nugent and expensive guide Carlos, Nigel and Sidney find it, only to be left tied-up to die by Carlos, but wriggle lose. He takes it to his guerrilla rebel mates, but when he drops it and touches the ruby eyes is killed as if by radiation, leaving a corn stench. The heroes pick it up and find the next thief, who got it from their train compartment, died the same way. They decide to take the idol back, relying on Wayne's satellite to avoid the rebels, yet their colonel sneaks up on them in the temple.
