"School Days" opens with Johnny Yuma being offered a job as temporary schoolmaster after standing up to the town bigwig (Dick Rich, first of two), who didn't need schooling to become wealthy. His son is Troy Armbruster (Warren Oates), who is in love with pretty student Peggy O'Shea (Fintan Meyler), but she takes a liking to the handsome young teacher. Jealousy leads to a physical assault on Yuma, then an angry confrontation with Peggy, Troy's father blaming the innocent Johnny rather than his own son. Johnny's able to goad Troy into action, but all ends happily with Yuma making his exit before Peggy's wedding to Troy. A familiar face on TV Westerns for decades, Olan Soule (first of three) enjoys a juicy role as Peggy's Irish father.
