When Rusty and Machiko are driving at night after he picks her up from the side of the road, headlights can be seen through the rear window. When the camera switches to an exterior shot of the truck, there is no vehicle behind them.
When Charlie is being embraced by his father in front of the signage at the bus station, a woman is seen in the foreground out of focus passing from right to left. Just after that, Machiko can be seen approaching them to within a couple of feet, seen through the windows of the truck.
In the episode "Americanization of Machiko" which was dated 4 August 1953, Rusty says that he was in AAA ball before he went to war in the Pacific.
