- [Meg and Colleen are discussing Bea and Lizzie's story re the murder of Nola and the involvement of Joan Ferguson]
- Meg Morris: How in the hell do you prove something like that?
- Colleen Powell: [laughs] Same old story, isn't it? Definite suspicions of our Joan's guilt or involvement in things, but no damn proof.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: I wouldn't count on Smith being around to protect you, Birdsworth. Governor doesn't believe a word of her fairy-tale.
- Lizzie Birdsworth: You can't do anything to me. You might be able to soft-soap the new governor but Bea will get you in the end. She fixed that bitch Nola, and I'm bloody glad she did. And she'll get you too, Ferguson.
- Joan 'The Freak' Ferguson: Governor, when you've been with the department as long as I have, you begin to realise just what these women are capable of.
- Ann Reynolds: I think I am just starting to find out.
- Colleen Powell: It's gonna be difficult ro prove; Moonbeam's denied it all.
- Bea Smith: That figures. At least Lizzie is on my side; she knows what happened.
- Colleen Powell: Lizzie is in enough trouble as it is.
- Bea Smith: What's she done?
- Colleen Powell: My God! She brought you the gun! That makes her an accessory before the fact.
- Bea Smith: She didn't know what I was up to; she was only trying to protect me.
- Colleen Powell: Yeah, perhaps, but she's still gonna be charged.
- Bea Smith: Oh no! She had no idea what I was gonna do. She was only trying to look after me.
